Our Team
Our History
Effect started as a one-man show with Dale in rural Alberta. Renovating and building homes, agricultural buildings, and community halls, Dale became known for his high-quality workmanship, fairness and attention to detail.
When Dale moved to the city, he joined forces with Les and Dave, establishing their presence in the Edmonton market. Their focus on energy efficiency and superior custom builds set them apart. While Dale and Dave were busy building, Les took the lead on marketing and sales.
In 2008 Effect received environmental awards for the Mackenzie home. And in 2012 the Belgravia Green Net Zero energy project gained further exposure—winning local, provincial and national awards. This led to further investment in the net zero movement with Dale as a member of the Canadian Home Building Association Net Zero Energy Housing Council.
In 2010, Effect continued to grow, attracting new key leaders who have proven invaluable to our success.
Dominic Emmelkamp guides the team through complex projects, with Will Berger and Nick Harrington supervising the sites.
And we continue to evolve. In 2018, we designed and built our new office space, showcasing Effect’s dedication to innovation and energy efficiency. Our new office is completely off the electrical grid and generates all its own heat and electricity on site.
