Build it better

Healthy Homes

From start to finish, every detail of an Effect home is made with you and your health in mind. A healthy home uses better building methods, better products and better materials.

Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV)

Indoor air quality is essential to a healthy home. All Effect homes have a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) to exhaust stale, polluted air and replace it with an equal quantity of fresh, clean air. The exhausting air preheats the incoming fresh air to conserve valuable heat energy allowing the heat to stay in the house. This filtered air exchange provides a much healthier indoor environment.

Radon gas mitigation

A Radon gas mitigation pipe is also installed in all new homes. Radon is a radioactive gas that is naturally found in soil and rock, existing in inconsistent concentrations. Our homes are highly sealed; however, should any Radon gas be detected, we have a system that can be used to exhaust this gas and ensure safety.

Material choices

Materials that emit minimal or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as low- or zero-VOC paint are used to keep indoor air quality high.

Construction Safety

Well before you move into your home, Effect follows a strict set of safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. The Certificate of Recognition (COR) has been awarded to Effect for developing and maintaining a health and safety program that meets established standards and is re-certified every three years.
